Health Association Nova Scotia is also a joint sponsor of the Nova Scotia Health Employees’ Pension Plan. NSHEPP is one of the largest registered pension plans in Nova Scotia with assets exceeding $10 Billion. As of 2021, it serves over 32,000 active members who work at over 150 sites across the province; and over 14,000 pensioners who receive a monthly income from the Plan.

Organizations must be a member of the Health Association in order to join competitive defined benefit pension plan, which offers its plan members and member employers a range of very attractive benefits of participation. 

We also provide policy support for our continuing care and Disability Support Program members, assisting them to promote positive change in these vital sectors.

Our members come from a wide range of sectors whose mandates positively impact the determinants of health.  These include the Nova Scotia Health Authority, the IWK Health Centre, nursing homes, home care agencies, adult residential centres/regional rehabilitation centres, residential care facilities, and a wide variety of other health and community-based organizations.

Membership Application

Once you become a member of the Health Association, you have access to our fee-for-service programs, expertise, and all the great benefits we have to offer.

Applications for membership are approved by our Board of Directors.  The Board has established a policy that sets out the criteria it considers when assessing the suitability of an applicant for membership.
