Personalized Assistance to Health (path) is sponsored by the NSAHO Long Term Disability Plan Trustees (comprised equally of employee and employer representatives) as part of their commitment to creating a healthy workplace and ensuring that disability benefits remain available to health care workers in Nova Scotia at a reasonable cost. The program is funded by the LTD Trust Fund.
Who is eligible?
path is available to all employees who pay into the NSAHO LTD Plan and have absent, or not worked full days and/or duties, for 7 days or more due to any illness or injury (no WCB).
It’s voluntary
You decide if you want to join. It’s all up to you.
It’s confidential
All medical and personal information is completely confidential every step of the way. Information is shared on a need-to-know basis only with your agreement.
You have a say in your recovery
You are directly involved in all decisions that may affect your recovery.
It’s personalized and flexible
The program is tailored to your personal situation in an effort to minimize your disability and maximize your quality of life. And this responsive program can change as your needs change.
It’s consistent
The early intervention program operates efficiently within the structure of existing collective agreements. It is consistent for all employees, regardless of work location or bargaining group.
It’s unique
The program is not like any other offered to you. It is not an attendance management, income replacement, or a counselling service like EFAP. path provides personalized assistance–what you need–to help you get well.
