Thinking about Retirement

I am an Employee at:

  • IWK Health Centre who may be eligible for HANS Retiree Plan
    You are eligible for retiree benefits if you have at least 10 years of continuous service immediately prior to retirement and receive a pension from the Nova Scotia Health Employees’ Pension Plan or another pension plan sponsored by your employer.
  • Other HANS Member Organizations who may be eligible for HANS Retiree Plan
    You are eligible for retiree benefits if you have at least 10 years of continuous service immediately prior to retirement and receive a pension from the Nova Scotia Health Employees’ Pension Plan or another pension plan sponsored by your employer.
  • Nova Scotia Health (NSH)
    • Employees who may be eligible for HANS Retiree Plan
      You are eligible for retiree benefits if you have at least 10 years of continuous service immediately prior to retirement and receive a pension from the Nova Scotia Health Employees’ Pension Plan or another pension plan sponsored by your employer. 
    • Central Zone NSGEU Employees who may be eligible for HANS Retiree NSH Lifetime Cost Sharing Plan
      You are eligible for retiree benefits if you are Employees retiring who will be in immediate receipt of a monthly unreduced pension benefit prior to age 55 or at age 55 and have at least 10 years of continuous service immediately prior to retirement.
    • Public Health and Addiction Service/Continuing Care NSGEU Employees who may be eligible for Public Health/Continuing Care NSH Lifetime Cost Sharing Plan
      You are eligible for retiree benefits if you are an employee retiring who will be in immediate receipt of a monthly pension from the Province of Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Plan and currently participate in the Health and/or Life insurance.
